Namibia
The scenery and wildlife in Namibia is quite unique in Africa. Located along Africa’s most inhospitable coast, Namibia is mostly desert - the Kalahari and the Namib, with game reserves covering almost 15% of the country. The wide-open spaces boast spectacular mountain ranges, the world’s highest sand dunes, the stunning Fish River Canyon, and the Etosha National Park.

Hotels and lodge accommodation is of a good standard with many roads sealed, and those unsealed in good condition. However, the country is vast and distances between sights should never be underestimated.

The cultural heritage is varied, having been influenced by many different groups. Bushmen and European settlers combine with other tribal groups to make up the varied population, with 80% of the population Christian.

The rainy season is from October to April. Daytime temperatures in summer are very high, however, the altitude keeps nights fairly cool and it can be quite cold in winter.
