Classic Tanzania & Zanzibar

Day 1:

Overnight flight to Dar-Es-Salaam.

Day 2:

Fly onward to Kilimanjaro and stay overnight at the Serena Mountain Village. Set in the depths of a coffee plantation guests are accommodated in ethnically-styled thatched rondavels. (HB)

Day 3:

Depart on safari to stay overnight at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. This lodge’s spectacular setting is on the edge of the Mto-Wa-Mbu escarpment, and the circular shape of the buildings is a tribute to indigenous architectural traditions. (FB)

Days 4-5:

Tour Lake Manyara before driving to the Serengeti National Park for two night stay at the Serengeti Serena Lodge. Perched high on a hill overlooking the plains below, accommodation is in luxury rondavels, inspired in design by a traditional African village. (FB)

Days 6-7:

Transfer via the Olduvai Gorge for two night stay at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. The lodge is built into the rim of a dormant volcano and the rooms have private terraces offering views of the crater floor. (FB)

Days 8-9:

Return to Arusha and fly to Zanzibar, for two night stay at the Beyt al Chai. This small boutique hotel has just six unique, beautifully-furnished rooms, and is situated right in the heart of Stone Town on famous Kelele Square. (BB)

Days 10-14:

Transfer to the coast for five nights at the Bluebay Beach Resort. Located on a white sandy beach, this hotel is built to a traditional Zanzibari design, with facilities which include tennis, watersports, diving and the island’s largest freshwater swimming pool. (HB)

Day 15:

Fly from Zanzibar to Dar-Es-Salaam to connect with the direct daytime flight to the UK, arriving late evening.
