Days 2-3:

On arrival in Cape Town, collect your hire car and make your way to the Taj Cape Town where you spend the next two nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The Taj Cape Town is a combination of rich history and elegant contemporary architecture. Ideally located in the centre of historic Cape Town at the entrance to the famous pedestrian precinct, St George's Mall and perfectly situated for those looking to discover authentic Cape Town; with its blend of fascinating history, exotic food and diverse culture. The Taj Cape Town presents an eclectic variety of cuisine and culinary experiences including an Indian specialty restaurant, a relaxed all-day dining restaurant and a champagne and oyster bar.

Days 4-5:

Drive into the sweeping landscape of the Great Karoo Cederberg Mountains, where you spend the next two nights at Bushmans Kloof on a full board basis. A magical, award-winning luxury ecological reserve. With its stunning location among the sweeping landscape of the Great Karoo and the Cederberg Mountains, it is hardly surprising that it has been declared a South African Heritage Site. Surrounded by great plains, fantastic rock formations and thundering waterfalls, the reserve offers accommodation in cottages in the grounds and suites in the original manor house, as well as an exclusive family villa with its own hostess, chef and guide. While the surrounding game and range of activities are magnificent, so are the rock art sites - of which there are over 130.

Days 6-7:

Make your way to the picturesque valley that is now synonymous with great gourmet experiences, Franschhoek. You spend the next two nights at La Residence on a bed and breakfast basis. The ultimate in luxury, this boutique hotel with just eleven rooms is decorated with fine French antiques, sumptuous Persian rugs and chandeliers that would be the envy of Versailles. Each room is individually designed and decorated with antiques and has a balcony or terrace with glorious views over mountains and vineyards, providing peace, calm and solitude. The food is exceptional, as is the service.
